As the popularity of cannabis continues to grow, it is increasingly important for consumers and patients to be informed about the products they choose to use. Currently, at least some form of cannabinoid containing product is legally available in every state across the country; access to adult-use and/or medical cannabis products is allowed in the majority of states, and hemp-derived products are sold legally online or in retail stores across the nation. However, the absence of federal legalization has created an often confusing and difficult-to-navigate landscape.

The Coalition for Cannabis Policy, Education, and Regulation (CPEAR), with contributions from bioMérieux, conducted insightful research addressing the pressing need for standardization in the rapidly expanding cannabis industry.

The analysis is synthesized in a comprehensive white paper, which sheds light on the complexities and challenges posed by the current discord between state and federal policies, the absence of unified standards and the implications of NOT knowing what cannabis contains.
